Iran Conflict Sparks 40% Monthly Surge in PCB Prices as Key Resin Supply Disrupted

Release date:2026-05-13 Number of clicks:201

The escalating Middle East conflict has disrupted global supply of high-purity PPE resin, critical for PCB laminate production. An early April attack on Saudi Arabia’s Jubail petrochemical complex knocked out ~70% of global supply, with production yet to recover. Combined with disrupted Gulf shipping, shortages of epoxy resin, copper foil, and fiberglass have driven PCB manufacturing costs sharply higher.

PCB prices jumped 40% in April alone, according to Goldman Sachs. A hoarding wave since March has worsened supply-demand imbalance. Prismark forecasts the global PCB market will grow 12.5% to $95.8 billion in 2026, fueled by AI server demand.

Copper foil prices are up 30% year-to-date (copper accounts for ~60% of PCB raw material costs). Epoxy resin lead times have stretched from 3 weeks to 15 weeks.

Korean PCB maker Daedeck has begun price negotiations with clients including Samsung, SK Hynix, and AMD. Nvidia core supplier Shengyi Technology warned that Middle East tensions will keep pushing up resin and copper prices.

Current pricing shows sharp divergence: standard multi-layer PCBs are around 192persquaremeter∗∗,whilehigh−endAIserverPCBsexceed∗∗192persquaremeter∗∗,whilehigh−endAIserverPCBsexceed∗∗1,855 per square meter.

ICgoodFind: Supply shock from Middle East conflict plus AI demand surge drove a 40% PCB price spike, squeezing electronics manufacturing costs industry-wide.
